From the series Never Going Back

As God spoke to His people, He wanted them to see how their trust in themselves had turned out for them. Peering over the edge of dry wells dug by human hands, God wanted His people to look into these wells and see that what they were giving their time to was never producing the living water they thirsted for. Instead, it was producing broken and cheap imitations of the real thing. And if we are honest, we all have wells. We all have places we run to and give our time and attention to that are broken and cheap imitations of the real thing. At some point in our lives, we’ve trusted in man-made wells to be for us what only God can. As a church, we are never going back to digging for nothing. We are never going back to the dry wells that never satisfied. Instead, we want to intentionally take time to find satisfaction in the living water that never runs dry and never fails.
