From the series Never Going Back
Jacob’s natural reaction when things got hard was to run. To run from difficult encounters and decisions andultimately, to run from what God has been calling him to. But one night, Jacob stopped running. And on thatnight, he removed every distraction that had kept him from the hard encounter he needed to have with Godand moved from running from God to wrestling with God. It was that night when Jacob willingly steppedinto the hard thing in front of him that God opened His eyes to the calling before him. We’ve been given anopportunity in this season to remove every distraction and wrestle with God through our doubt, our fear, andour laziness and to invite him to move in our lives like never before. As a church, we are never going back torunning from hard, instead we willingly remove from our lives what is keeping us from fully experiencingGod. We surrender to hard and trust that when we do that, God makes it holy ground.
