To a horse, the word “spur” probably doesn’t have a positive connotation, but for some reason, the author of Hebrews urges believers to “spur one another on to love and good deeds”. Sometimes, what’s necessary for spiritual growth, maturity, and activity is a bit of holy discomfort. We’re called to facilitate this sort of discomfort that propels others toward Christ-likeness.
